Like most budding writers, I began with grand aspirations: I was going to write the great American children's book. On my way to literary stardom, I tried everything - stumbling through bad poetry and slogging through short fiction - until I found I had a knack for writing plays.

Then I discovered my real passion was publishing other people's words. So, with a little help from my friends, I started a literary magazine, then a press, then three more literary magazines, and now we've added books.

Though my first love has been pushed upstage, for now, I still find time to scribble out a few sentences for fun and profit.

This site contains some of those words. Feel free to take a look around. Every once in a while, I may even put up something new to read.
